Located in Washtenaw County, Saline is a city in Michigan with an estimated population of 8,810. Saline is known for its annual Celtic Festival, an event which attracts people from all over the country. Saline was named after its river, in which French explorers from the 18th century canoed up to the area and harvested the salt. In 2009, Saline was ranked the 63rd best place to live by CNN/Money Magazine survey, and it also made CNN/Money’s list of best places to retire in 2005.
Saline Area Chamber of Commerce – Established in 1980, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit civic organization dedicated to helping Saline become a better place to live and work. Today SACC has nearly 500 Members representing a diverse array of businesses and individuals, largely from organizations in the City of Saline and the five surrounding townships of Bridgewater, Lodi, Pittsfield, Saline, and York.
Saline Area Historical Society – The Saline Area Historical Society maintains the Depot Museum and the Rentschler Farm Museum and hosts a number of events throughout the year. The society has a vast collection of 3,147 cataloged items, and has about 225 individuals, families, patrons and business members.
